3) Oh! Meow! Bow!

The game's deck comprises of cards that have a rank and a point value depending on the rank's strength. During your turn, you can choose to do one of three actions which include playing up to three cards to a single meld. The round ends once a player has played all their cards so be the first to finish taking care of your cats and dogs! If you neglect any animals, they will be sad and you'll earn yourself some poop tokens.

4) Cat Sudoku

Publisher: Sunrise Tornado Game Studio

Designed by a Taiwanese board game designer now based in Los Angeles, Cat Sudoku is a roll-and-write sudoku game where players take turns to roll four dice and simultaneously write the numbers on their sudoku puzzle papers. Avoid putting the same number into the same row or column in your puzzle just like in traditional Sudoku so that you won't receive penalties. Additionally, remember to watch out for the diagonal spaces to keep out of trouble! Once players fill in all the spaces in their puzzle, the game ends and the winner is the player with the most points.

5) Purrballs: Catventure Card Game

Publisher: Nekomancy Games

Craft your own party of eager Catventurers in Purrballs: Catventure Card Game, with each of them possessing a unique ability, a Speed value and their own way of scoring Experience Points (XP). Every round, strategically choose a Catventurer to send into the Dungeon where they'll collect loot and fend off Monsters to reap their rewards. When no loot is left, the player with the highest XP will emerge victorious as the winner of the game.

In conclusion, these five board games offer a wonderful way to honour and celebrate our furry friends, not just on National Pet Day but also throughout the year. Whether you're caring for pets, embarking on catventures or strategising with space puppies, these games provide endless entertainment. So gather your friends and family, unleash your inner pet lover, and let the games begin!
