Candy Spiders Leopards is a quirky, fast-paced trick-taking and set-collection game. Players are kids trying to catch bizarre falling objects—candy, spiders, leopards, and more—by dividing their nine cards into three piles and preparing for three trick-taking sequences each round. Programming, timing, and bluffing decide whether they collect treasures or get swept up in chaos.
The game is played over four rounds (or more with three or five players). Each round features three trick-taking sequences, each tied to a set of three Fafrotskies cards. Players receive nine rain cards and secretly divide them into three piles, one for each sequence.
Each player’s turn within a sequence follows standard trick-taking flow:
One player leads a card.
Others follow suit if they can.
Blue cards act as trumps, beating any color.
The highest valid card wins and claims a Fafrotskies card from that batch.
Before each round, players may silently declare Good Weather. If successful, they earn a Good Weather card worth 7 points. Failing by winning even one trick turns every Fafrotskies card they collected into a penalty (-2 points each).
After all three piles are played, check Good Weather, pass the first-player token, and continue to the next round. Each Fafrotskies type—candy, spiders, leopards, and shooting stars—has its own scoring card, with A and B sides chosen before the game for different scoring methods.
At the end of the game, the player with the most points wins, earning bragging rights for surviving a storm where even leopards fall from the sky.
