Elicia Lee Talks TableCon Quest 2025: Bigger, Better, More Fun!

From trading cards to indie games, TableCon Quest 2025 (TCQ) is back, bigger, more exciting, and celebrating everything tabletop. We caught up with Elicia Lee, co-producer of TCQ, to hear her insights and lessons from last year’s inaugural event.

Tablecon Quest 2025: Interview with Elicia Lee profile

TableCon Quest is happening at Suntec Hall 403-405 over the weekend of 23 and 24 August 2025 from 10am to 8pm. TableCon Quest aims to bring together diverse gaming communities, including board games, trading card games, miniatures, and tabletop RPGs.

Q: Please give the readers a short introduction about yourself and your role in TableCon Quest.

My name is Elicia Lee, and I’m the Managing Director of Eliphant, one of the creators and co-organisers of TableCon Quest. Together with Genesis Frontier, we wanted to create a tabletop event that brings all the different communities together in one place. Today, TableCon Quest is one of the largest shows in Singapore, covering the full spectrum of tabletop games, from trading card games and tabletop role playing games to miniature war games, indie creations, and popular board games from around the world.

Eliphant is all about games and the communities around them. Since 2014, we’ve gone from putting together GameStart Asia, which has grown into one of the region’s biggest gaming conventions, to running all sorts of cool projects across Southeast Asia. We handle everything from game marketing and community building to influencer outreach, livestreams, and custom events. Whether it’s teaming up with publishers or running big shows like SEA Major, we bring both know-how and passion for the gaming scene to everything we do.

Q: What are some changes implemented in this year’s event based on feedback from last year? Are there any new additions to this year? If so, which is your favourite?

We got tons of requests for new stuff, so this year we’re bringing in a Creator Zone, featuring indie tabletop art and crafts, and a Trading Zone where you can trade or sell your single cards and games. Our Indie Games Zone was already a fan favorite last year, and this time we’re powering it up with Indie Wavemakers from Singapore. They’re the team behind the indie showcase at Gamescom Asia, spotlighting regional creators and giving them visibility to gamers and new audiences alike.

One of the biggest highlights this year is the Bushiroad Card Game Fest, making its debut outside Japan. It’s such a big deal that we expanded into three halls. Bushiroad is a powerhouse in the tabletop world behind major franchises like Cardfight Vanguard and Weiß Schwarz, as well as multimedia hits like BanG Dream, Revue Starlight, and D4DJ, which span card games, anime, live music, and mobile games.

We’re also welcoming some amazing voice actresses. Yuka Nishio is well known for voicing Nanami Hiromachi in BanG Dream as part of the band Morfonica, and Rinku Aimoto in the DJ-themed project D4DJ. Aina Aiba voices Yukina Minato from Roselia in BanG Dream, Tokoha Anjo in Cardfight Vanguard G, and Claudine Saijo in Revue Starlight. She also has a background in professional wrestling and has won awards for her singing performances.

To top it off, there will be a live Ultraman performance on Sunday.

As someone who loves indie games, I’m especially excited to see and try all the creative new projects being showcased this year.

Q: Was there a shift in mindset for you personally between last year’s event and now?

We learned a lot from last year’s event, and that experience has helped us plan better and communicate more effectively with the different tabletop communities as we prepared for this year. On a personal level, I’ve gained a deeper understanding of the tabletop industry, and as we continue to learn and grow, we’ll keep adapting TableCon Quest along the way.

Q: What was your most memorable moment from last year’s TableCon Quest?

For me, it was walking around the hall on Saturday and seeing every booth buzzing with people playing games, painting miniatures, and just having a great time. Last year had a great turnout and received a very warm reception, with lots of praise for the event. Since it was our very first event, we honestly didn’t know what to expect, so that moment gave our team the motivation to make TableCon Quest bigger and better this year.

Q: How are you working to make this event more inclusive across the different genres, age groups and cultures seen in the Singaporean board game community?

TableCon Quest has always aimed to be inclusive for everyone. In terms of content, we partner with various community groups to ensure broad representation at the event. We strive to create a family-friendly environment where anyone can join in, regardless of age, ability, or experience with games. We continue to offer a 50% discount on tickets for students, and this year kids under 12 get free admission. We also welcome feedback from attendees to keep improving the experience for everyone.

Q: What is one thing that excites you personally for this year's TableCon Quest?

I’m really hoping I get the chance to play lots of games! Last year, I was tied up making sure everything ran smoothly since it was our very first TableCon Quest. This year, I’m hoping things go smoothly enough that I can sneak away for some game time. Haha.

Q:  What are your hopes and ambitions for the future of TableCon Quest?

TableCon Quest will continue to evolve as we do our best to cater to the needs of the industry and also what our consumers and visitors would like to experience. Our long-term goal is to become a key event for tabletop games in Southeast Asia, and we hope it will inspire more people to discover the joy, creativity, and community that tabletop gaming brings.
